- Whiskey Sauce

- 1 stick unsalted butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup whiskey or
- bourbon or
- rum

- Melt butter over medium heat.
- Add sugar and stir until smooth.
- (The sugar will not dissolve completely.)
- Beat egg; add to the hot sauce, while whipping vigourously with a
- beater or whisk.
- Remove sauce from the heat.
- Allow to cool 3 minutes.
- Stir in your choice of spirits.
